There are many animal rescue organizations. Anyone can start or take part in one. I am a member of Animal Flight Rescues, ARF, www.AnimalFlightRescues.org. This group is a non-profit organization and is comprised of pilots and non-pilots alike. ARF transports animals from KILL shelters to NO-KILL shelters. Depending on the type of the plane the volunteer pilot has, determines how many animals they can transport. Pilots can take one leg of the transport or fly the whole route. Anyone can become a member. Rescue groups, shelters and other transport groups are also a part of this organization. They are always looking for new members to assist in planning, ground or air transports. With gas prices rising, the good news is, it’s tax deductible. Make flying more enjoyable by saving a life or two or three….For those non-pilots, after you join
, pass the word around. ARF is need of pilots. It is rewarding knowing that you helped save a life. The furry little ones will thank you with their kisses!
